Dr. Alexey Levykin born in 1959 in Moscow; doctor of historical sciences, leading specialist in the field of antique Russian and foreign arms; director of the Federal State-Financed Entity of Culture “The State Historical Museum”,
a chair of the Scientific Council of the State Historical museum, a member of the Presidium of the Russian Historical Society, a member of the Presidium of the Council of Museums in Russia, a member of the Heraldic Council
at the President of the Russian Federation, a member of the Council on the State Cultural policy at the Chairman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, a member of the expert Council at
the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, a member of the Russian Military Historical Society and a member of the Presidium of the ICOM in Russia. He was study in Lomonosov Moscow State University. He has been in V.I.
Lenin’s central Museum and in the Department of Armory in the Moscow Kremlin State Historical and Cultural Museum and Heritage Site.
He was awarded with a number of state awards, among which there are the following: Second-class
medal of the Order of Merit for the Motherland; Honorary Mention by the Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation; Prize given by the Government of Russia for cultural achievements, Certificate of Appreciation from the
Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation; Honorary Mention by the mayor of Moscow; Order of Friendship.
Dr. Levykin is the author of such monographs as «Martial Ceremonies and Regalia of Russian Tsars», «The Imperial
Rjust-Chamber. The Moscow Kremlin», as well as a number of articles devoted to the history of military science and the organization of manufacture of arms in Russia in XVI-XVIII centuries. Dr. Levykin is as well an editor-in-chief
of a series of thematic catalogues and catalogues of full collections of the Moscow Kremlin Museums(The Carriages; English fire-arms; Glass and Porcelain Collections).
